Even more important than the shift from ICE to EV is self driving cars, which will reduce the number of cars, need for parking etc. dramatically giving new opportunities for our cities future development.
Good point John. I wonder how big autonomous driving will be 2032? I read a lot of opinions about not as quickly as the tech talkers suggest and not at all for large freight trucks apart from in countries like the US. Think long straight freeways where trucks could go thousands of miles in convoys.
On a more depressing note there are several predictors about the extinction of humans. The most recent I read was about fertility rates. Apparently for a viable population there needs to be a fertility rate of 2.1 (if I remember correctly). And yet the global population won't peak until 2055-2060. The biggest issue at the moment is how do we feed everyone without destroying what we've got.
