This is exactly why I haven’t yet bought an electric car. I subscribe to a number of motoring YouTube channels and very few give the reality of owning an electric vehicle. That’s why I drive a hybrid. Currently I get 65ish mpg mostly in town driving. On a longer run that drops to 55ish. However, I never have range anxiety or need to plan my journey. I’ll be holding off buying an EV until they can match the petrol/hybrid experience (or I can afford a Tesla)
Journey planning is still very much part of the longer drive experience, even for a Tesla. Although they make it easy to organise. For all of my everyday driving, it's fine and I don't have a home charge point yet. Even if there was enough charge points, you have to get comfortable with waiting for 30-40 minutes, every 2-2.5 hours and that's with a decent range car. Thanks for reading and all your comments. Happy New Year Andrew.
